Lobe, cross section. On top a cortex of tight mycelium and beneath a layer with the symbiontic
Trebouxia green algae. Under this algae layer follows a loose ordered layer of mycelium.
At the bottom a brown cortex consisting of tight, felty mycelium.

Lobe, cross section, close look at the lobe's top. It is built by a palisadeplectenchym (here only covertly
visible) with epicortex and pores. Astonoshing is the resemblance with the bifacial leafs of plants.
