The upper surface is all over glatt, glänzend, nirgends feinfilzig, behaart oder matt. Ihre Farbe blaugrau,

The underside is all over white with white or slight dark and rarely branched rhinzines. Veins are also white and elevated.

Apothecies grow from the end of a lobe and have a more or less circular shape.

Lobe, cross section. Beneath the paraplektenchymatic upper cortex follows the layer with the symbiontic
cyanobacteria (Nostoc). Under this layer we see a layer of loose ordered mycelium. There is no lower cortex.

Apothecie, cross section. Beneath the brownisch epihymenium we see the hymenium that mainly consists of
paraphysies. Between the paraphysies there grow the asci with the eight-celled spores in them. Beneath the hymenium
follows the more fluffy subhymenium.
