Lobe, cross section. Typical body of a foliose lichen: on top a thin cortex of fungal-hyphae, followed by the
layer of symbiontic green algae and beneath a layer of loose ordered fungal-hyphae. At the bottom again
a dark brownish cortex layer. Isidies are breaking through the upper cortex layer.
